Started my home Poker Game

So now that I've spent enough money playing poker at the Seminole Hard Rock (actually I usually do well with the poker tables there - the explosion of poker popularity has made it easy to win off of tourists.)

I started to outfit myself for a bi-weekly home game with some friends.

Here are some tips to get started.

First off I got a nice poker table by redeeming some Amex Miles. Most Online Poker Stores have a Variety of Folding Tables or table toppers if you are on a budget. Mine is a piece of furnature that will stay in my game room.

Then I purchased a quality poker set from www.homecardroom.net I got a 500 piece Nevada Jacks set. Really nice. It has the composite chip look and feel of the Hard Rocks casino Chip. I figure If I'm going to have a card game I might as well make it nice by using quality chips.

I also bought a 2 deck set of Copag Poker sized Playing cards. I love these cards as they are Plastic, Casino quality and will last forever, vs. normal playing cards that last maybe two home tournaments.

I picked Up a set of dealer buttons as well.

Then I went to http://drneau.com/TournamentManager.htm an found a free tournament timer, and now I'm all set.

Another Topic for only in South Florida. Why is it that every nutball in the world comes to South Florida?

I find the news here more entertaining than any other Reality TV Show.

State: Vote could ease path of slots into tribal casinos

State: Vote could ease path of slots into tribal casinos Interesting. I'm glad the slot vote passed. NEWS FLASH we already have LAs Vegas style slots in Florida. It is called offshore gaming. Take a SUN CRUZ casino boat 3 miles out and loose your money. The really nice thing about offshore gamining is that it is unregulated. That means the casino boat can fix the payout on the slots to whatever they want and no one checks them. Also they do not pay a penny to the state.

The Slots in forward are a good thing. The gambling that is going offshore will stay in town and be regulated. The state will now get a part of the pie as well.

South Florida Loses Rock And Roll Station 94.9 Zeta

Let me start this out by saying, I NOW HATE CLEAR CHANNEL. I didn't care when they bought up everything on the dial, but it is now quite obvious that they care nothing for their customers.

South Florida had one Alternative/New Rock station and now it is gone.
It has be Changed to HURBAN format (Hip Hop / Urban) Mega 94. Because Miami Does not have enough Spanish stations.
What a crock.

I hope the DJs at least land on thier feet.

I think it all started when the Brain Trust at Clear Channel moved the morning show of Paul and Ron to WBGG 105.9. - The ratings must have dropped afterwards. Oh yeah clear channel moved Paul and Ron after dropping Stern. These guys are Brilliant. The actually get paid to make these decisions. I thought you were supposed to make money in Radio buy selling advertising - not messing with decades old South Florida Institution.

I am glad The Lex and Terry Show is gone - at least I hope it is. I always thought a morning show should be local and not piped in from another city.

At least 93.1 stepped up to the plate and changed format to Rock to compensate, but it is not the same. I also liked 93.1 for Dance music once in a while. Oh well.

BOYCOTT Clear Channel
BUY Sirius Sat radio, and not XM, because XM Radio is partially owned by Clear Channel.

There is an Online Petiton to bring Zeta back
- I signed it but doubt it will do any good. I am boycotting Clear Channel though and am going to miss listening to Schnitt on the AM dial because of it.

Fort Lauderdale Prohibition is Back Just ask the City Manager

All you locals check out this Story

City Manager George Gretsas has been hitting the bars and clubs in downtown Fort Lauderdale and does not like what he sees. Dude go back to bed.

He paints a picture of an out of control party which is not the case. He should go down to Miami Beach one weekend night for a real life comparison.
  1. I don't see people puking all over the street late at night in Fort Lauderdale.
  2. There are not hordes of underage kids on the street.
  3. The crowd in Fort Lauderdale is well behaved.
  4. the bars pay for an overtime police presence to be sure of item 3 above.

These guy should go back to where he came from, or at least take a class in tourism economics.

Sick of the bar scene. Going to venture out into daylight and go kitesurfing today. If It doesn't work out, at least my hospital has cute nurses.
